Fit for a Winner
Kate is definitely one of those timeless actresses that will age gracefully and will always look good. She has made some great choices with her look at the recent awards ceremonies, choosing a classic, understated approach that is just so fitting with the times (yes, I was itching to say ‘economic climate’ there!). Kate’s look is very wearable and easy to emulate.
Kate’s skin looks youthful, fresh and healthy. Korres Wild Rose Brightening Mask will brighten your skin and give you a healthy glow.
Choosing the right shade of foundation is key to perfecting the natural look. But don’t go too heavy with the coverage, otherwise you will look overly made-up. BECCA Luminous Skin Colour in Nude will give you a flawless result. Apply a dab of BECCA Crème Blush in Turkish Rose in a circular motion on the apples of your cheeks to add a healthy glow. Sweep ModelCo Glow Summer Bronze along your cheekbones and a little across your forehead for that sun-kissed LA look.
Kate has stunning eyes which she keeps very natural. Keep the lids light with Korres Sunflower Oil Shimmering Eyeshadow in Gold. Line the lid with Korres Soft Eyeliner in Black. Finally apply lashings of BECCA Ultimate Mascara for long, thick, glossy lashes. Kate’s brows are very prominent and always well groomed. The Model Co Designer Brow Kit has all you need to keep those brows in check.
Choosing a good lip colour is always important. Too beige and you will look like a corpse. Too pink and you will look like a Barbie. Kate’s lips are not super glossy, just well moisturised with a hint of colour. Try BECCA Sheer Lip Tint in Laelia, for peachy looking lips that will taste of toffee apples!
Kate Winslet won the 2009 Oscar for Best Actress (The Reader).

Cold Weather Survival Kit
This impromptu little ski trip was great for two reasons. Firstly, it allowed me to take advantage of the incredible snow that has been constantly falling in the Alps. Secondly, it reminded me how important it is to pack the right products! As I found myself sitting on a very exposed chairlift, being battered by wind and snow, i tried to remember exactly what products I had brought with me to help give my skin a little love after this aggressive natural exfoliation I was experiencing!
The cold weather can really dry out your skin, as can the wind burn you will inevitably experience. Using a high factor sunscreen is always advisable when skiing, no matter what the weather. You'll be suprised how efficient the snow can be in reflecting the sun onto your face. I use Rodial Glamotox, which is a lovely, creamy moisturiser with SPF18. I also made sure I had my Dr Lipp within easy reach at all times as chapped lips are never a good look. Prevention is the key!
In the evenings, I soothed my glowing skin with the Korres Yoghurt Cream. I love this moisturiser as it is very soothing and very hydrating.
I also massaged my feet with Yu-Be before going to bed so they felt soft, refreshed and ready for another day's skiing!
